Obituary for Donald C. Kelly Donald Curtis Kelly of Louisville, Ky. (Middletown area) passed away December 9, 2018. He was born in Knott Coal Camp, Ky.
on December 16, 1932 and raised in Vicco, Ky. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Jacqueline and 3 sons, Keith, Brian and Kris(Lori)aka “Bebo”. Three grand-children, Madison Kelly, Sean Kelly and Justin Trimble.
Brother Tommy(Wilma) of Lexington. Many beloved Nieces, Nephews and Sis/Bro-n-Laws. Preceded in death by parents Verna and Thomas Kelly and sister Betty Brashear.
He was a graduate of the old Vicco High School and subsequently received his accounting degree at the University of Kentucky in 1955. While at UK, he married his love Jackie(Watts) and completed ROTC. After graduation, he entered the Army as 2nd Lieutenant.
Upon leaving the Army in 1957 as 1st Lt. , he returned to Louisville where an accounting job awaited at Yeager, Ford and Warren. He quickly earned his CPA.
In 1972 he started his own accounting practice serving the Middletown area and beyond for over 35 years. He was a charter member/deacon/treasurer of Woodland Baptist Church in Middletown where he remained active for over 50 years. Member/past President of the Middletown Rotary Club.
He loved to play basketball, passionately. He also loved to coach basketball, coaching the “Warriors” to a couple of championships in the Middletown Recreation Association(1969-1974). He loved his Kentucky Wildcats and was a football season ticketholder since 1973.
He will be missed for his special brand of love wrapped in his honesty, integrity and wit. We wish to thank the staff at the Forum@Brookside, Baptist East Palliative Care and Hosparus for the excellent care all provided. Combined visitation/funeral will be held at 11:00 am, 12/13/2018 at Woodland Baptist Church of Middletown(809 N. Pope Lick Rd.
40243) with burial at Middletown Cemetery. Ratterman’s Funeral Home of Middletown will handle arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Woodland Baptist Church of Middletown.
