Donald C. Benefield, 77, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home in Libby with his family by his side. He was born April 16, 1941 in Eureka, MT to Clay and Leona Benefield. On June 17, 1961 he married Barbara Ward in Coeur dā€™ Alene, ID.

Don worked various jobs, including logging; railroad; and construction. He retired in 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents, Clay and Leona; his brother, David; brother-in-law, Lloyd Brickey; and mother-in-law, Marie Lou Ward; and brother and sister in law Bub and Helen Ward.

Survivors include his children Sheri Edwards of Libby; Dawn (Kerry) Braaten of Plains; Michele Benefield-Kessel of Libby; Scott (Kim) Benefield of Cheney, WA; Donald (Muha) Benefield of Libby; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Helen Brickey & family and Gayla Benefield & family. Services for Don will be at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Libby Christian Church. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.
