Obituary for Donald “Don D” Stephenson Donald Stephenson, 71, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1947 in Fernandina Beach, FL the son of Willie and Ellen (Jordan) Stephenson. Don served in the US Army and received a National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and was an expert M-14 rifles man.

He retired from the Battle Creek VA Medical Center working his way from laundry supervisor to housekeeping. Don enjoyed fishing and was very social. He loved music and playing the piano.

Don liked to indulge in the pleasures of life and was a classic man. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Heather Starr Robbins, Safari (Alpheus) Brooks-Charles, and Todd Billings; siblings, Marie Rogers, Alvin (Tammy) Stephenson, and Jacklyn Washington; grandchildren, Marques, Moniqua (James), Myquala, & Maquenzie Robbins, and Tyler, Kristopher, Alyson, & Madyson Charles; and great grandchildren, Jazeer and Zamiyah Gandy. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Willie Stephenson, Mary Rogers, and Christine Rogers; and nephew, Devin Stephenson-Miller.

Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with funeral services to immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
