JoAnn “Baba” Gillum (Pultorak) left this world to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, Oct 30, 2018 as a result of lung and heart complications. She was at peace with the situation and surrounded by some of her closest family during her last days and minutes. She was an amazingly compassionate woman of God.

She was truly loved by her family and many friends! She leaves behind a sister Carla (Glen) Blinn, brothers Mike (Sharon) Pultorak and Jack Corey, a daughter Justine (Dave) Bentz, a son Vince (Kelly) Aldrich and 10 grandchildren; Ashley, Nicole and Breana Bentz, Zack Musolf, Jordyn, Anthony and Austin Aldrich, Leah, Hannah and Trent Sandy. She retired from Kellogg Community Credit Union.

She truly loved all her friends and family but adored her grandkids! She loved to do unique things with them and was able to create special memories and bonds with each of them. She spent all the time she could at church and/or supporting a church ministry.

It is rare that a person can so accurately be described by the fruit of the Spirit of God, but Baba can. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There will be a celebration of her life held at Dexter Lake Church on Sunday, Nov 4th at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, it is fitting that Baba would ask that you all make a heartfelt donation to DLC Benevolence in her name. It is a fund through Dexter Lake Church in Battle Creek that will help less fortunate local families this holiday season. Or if you prefer, make a donation to Binder Park Zoo in her name and it will be earmarked for the giraffe exhibit…her favorite.
