Obituary for Donald Ernest Betz Donald Ernest Betz, 83, of Eldersburg, MD passed away on January 25, 2019. Born September 23, 1935 in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Ernest and Helen (Kinstler) Betz and the devoted husband of Catherine Virginia Betz for 59 years. Don served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force.
Before he retired, Don was the owner and operator of Don’s Sunoco. He was always on the go and enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan.
Don worked at Liberty High School and enjoyed working with the children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Virginia Betz; three daughters: Donna Marino and her husband Sam, Sandra Scheubrooks and her husband Thomas, Kimberly McEwen and her husband Jeffrey; son, Donald Bryan Betz and his wife Heather; sister, Jane Denny; ten grandchildren: Mandy Regler, Meredith Rigatuso, Thomas, Jr “TJ” and Rachel Scheubrooks, Charles and Steven Rutter, Travis and Kathryn Shaffer, Jacob and Noah Betz; two step-grandchildren: Chelsea and Summer McEwen; five great-grandchildren: Dominic, Anastasia, Oliver, Penelope and Everly and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3pm-5pm & 7pm-9pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A service will be held at 11am on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the funeral home with Mr. Dave Kreimer officiating. A private family Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
