Donald Eugene “Don” Ketchum, Sr. of Dyersburg, Tennessee May 24, 1937 – February 5, 2019 Donald Eugene “Don” Ketchum, Sr., 81, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his residence. Born May 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Daniel Edward and Mildred Chandler Ketchum. Don proudly served his country during the Korean War as Airmen 3rd Class in the United States Air Force.

He was retired from Ketchum Appliance Parts and Service Center since 1958 and a member of Seventh Day Church of God. He enjoyed restoring antiques cars. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Trevor Sewell and Chaplain Brent Pearce with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 8th beginning at 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Dawn Ketchum; two sons, Donald Eugene Ketchum, Jr., Anthony Wayne Ketchum, both of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Heather Ketchum Sewell and husband, Scott, Holly Ketchum Rogers and husband, Jonathan; four great-grandchildren, Trevor Sewell, Anna Clair Sewell, Emma Rogers, Evan Rogers; one great-great-grandson, Fletcher Sewell; one sister, Patricia Ketchum Hopper of Collierville; two brothers, Jim Ketchum and Tim Ball, both of Dyersburg; and grandchildren by Love, Andrea Dawn Melton, Jaxon Reed McGuire, Hillary Burns Small and Cindy Benthal. Andrew Ball, Tim Ball, Jerry Lee, David Campbell, D.J. Bell and Buddy Hart will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Gene Rogers, Jaxon Reed McGuire, Mike Slaughter, Kade Campbell and Mike Chandler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Daniel Edward Ketchum, II. The family requests memorials be directed to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1015, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1015 or Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1055, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1055.
