Dateline Jasper, IN Donald L. Werner, age 81 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:14 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Don was born in Jasper, Indiana on April 27, 1937 to Robert and Edna (Breitweiser) Werner. He married Beverly Pfeffer on June 19, 1965 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Don retired as the owner of Don’s Sunoco in Jasper, where he had worked for over 48 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and their Men’s Sodality. He enjoyed gardening, watching sports, especially Nascar, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Indianapolis Colts, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly Werner of Jasper, two daughters, Stacy Werner (fiancé Brett Mehringer), Velpen, Angie Traylor (Kurt), Jasper, two sons, Brian Werner (Amy), Jasper, Todd Werner (Lisa), Jasper, nine grandchildren, Kendal Wehr, Clayton Traylor, Sydney Traylor, Jace Werner, Pieper Werner, Declan Stahl, Jax Werner, Quade Werner, and Lexi Mehringer, one great granddaughter Adalie Wehr, four sisters, Norma Kimmerle (John), Jasper, Betty Keeler, Columbus, OH, Margie Werner, Columbus, OH, and Marilyn Schipley (Jim), Columbus, OH, four brothers, Eugene Werner (Jane), Jasper, Tom Werner (Mary Jane), Ireland, Leo “Butch” Werner (Ginger), Columbus, OH and Jerry Werner Columbus, OH, one sister-in-law, Leona Werner of Jasper. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Raymond Werner. A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald L. Werner will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from Noon until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday. The Holy Family parish will pray the rosary at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
