Obituary for Mr. Donald Ray Brown Brown – Donald “Don” Ray Brown, age 75, of Starke, Florida passed away September 17, 2018 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born November 13, 1942 in Perdido, Alabama to the late Thomas and Lita Brown. Don honorably served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Mechanic for 26 years.

He has been a resident of Bradford County for 40 years and a member of the Masonic Lodge 189 in Lawtey. Don was also a part of the Shriners, Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls. He enjoyed Country Western music, fishing and could often be found tinkering or building something.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlene Lynn Brown. Don is survived by his longtime companion, Charlane Ivey Brown of Starke, FL; children, Cynthia (Timothy) Duncan of Raiford, FL, Daniel Ray Brown of Starke, FL; brothers Charles Thomas Brown of Atmore, AL, Gralin (Barbara) Brown of Orange Park, FL; sisters, Lavern Wasson and Diann Fretwell both of MD, Carolyn Bryant of TN; grandchildren, Dalton Duncan, Savannah Duncan, and Jesse Harden. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel.

Interment will follow at Lawtey Cemetery where military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends Monday, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services and Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel, Starke, Fl.
