Obituary for Ms. Iva Nelle Griffis Griffis – Iva Nelle Griffis, age 83, of Macclenny, Florida passed away August 31, 2018 at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida after a brief illness. She was born July 31, 1935 in Albertville, Alabama to the late Marvin Loveless and Geneva Cook Bryant and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1952 after marrying her husband, Richard A. Griffis. They later moved to Baker County in 1963 where they raised their family.

She retired from North East Florida State Hospital and was a member of Glen Baptist Church. Iva is predeceased by her parents; loving husband of 46 years, Richard A. Griffis; son, Gregory Bryant Griffis; grandson, Ricky Craft; brothers, Lloyd, Rayburn and Ricky Bryant; sisters, Evie Troxtell and Nina Brown. Iva is survived by her son, Richard Dean (Gail) Griffis; daughter, Lorri Michelle Starling; grandchildren, Misti Gainey, Virginia Ellen Griffis, Amanda Gail Howard, Quincy Anne Scarborough, Katy Ranelle Lanier, and Lexi Starling; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, and Raylyn Hodges, Grayson Griffis, Kooper and Kolby Lanier.

A Celebration of Iva’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church in Raiford, Florida with Pastor Mike Norman officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to service.
