Obituary for Ms. Lois Crawford Higens Higens – Lois Crawford Higens, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. Lois was born December 28, 1935 in Glen St Mary, Florida to the late Hamilton Jefferson and Eva Crawford. Lois was predeceased in life by her husband, Jack B. Higens in 1983.

Lois is survived by her son, Steven M. Higens (Karen); daughter, Suzanne Hayes (Robin); grandchildren, Josh, Katie, Kristen and Caleb Higens, Amanda Rewis (Tom), Lauren E. Hayes-Helms, Philip A.Hayes (Lauren); and eight great grandchildren, Lauren’s children: Hudson and Ruby Helms, Amanda’s children: Chelsey Barber & Cade Rewis, and Josh Higens’ children, Justin, Dalton, Hunter and Kendall. A Celebration of Lois’s life will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Arnold Johns and Elder Kenneth Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. an hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of their mother, Lois C. Higens, to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. The arrangements are under the care of V. Todd Ferreira Services, 250 N Lowder St., Macclenny, FL 32063.
