Donald Ray Jones, age 92 of Grand Haven, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at North Ottawa Community Hospital. He was born on September 8, 1926 in Plymouth, MI to the late Jeffrey and Jennie (Weseling) Jones. Don married Ruth Halbert on May 29, 1952 in Grand Rapids.

He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 during WWII. Donald worked for R.C. Allen and Friden Inc. as a calculator repairman for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also loved taking trips to the casino.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends, and everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth; daughters, Sandra (Al) Pepping of North Muskegon, Deb (Stacy) Ballard of Norton Shores, Janice Schenden of Sparta, and Jackie (Ron) Baldwin of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (Roger) De Mond of Pine Lake. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings.

The service for Don will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Full Military Rites will be performed by the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post 2326.

Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
