Donald Richard Ropp, 71, of Robertson Drive, Youngsville, PA passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at home unexpectedly. Born in Corry, PA, on October 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Ray and Isabella (Curry) Ropp. He was a 1964 graduate of Youngsville High School and served in the National Guard Army during the Vietnam War, stateside for 6 years.

Donald was retired as a manager from PennBank where he was employed for 36 years. He owned and operated his own pool company “Rustic Wood Pools” that he had designed and patented. He was a member of the American Legion in Youngsville and Sons of the American Legion in Corry.

Donald was a member of the Red Blazers Band from 1963 – 1964, and after 36 years, they reunited for a nostalgic reunion in 2011. After retirement, he enjoyed helping other people with whatever they needed. His greatest joy in his life was his daughter Jodi, and his love for his granddaughters.

Surviving is his wife, Sally (Atkins) Ropp whom he married Oct. 27, 1967 in Youngsville; a daughter, Jodi Cratty of Youngsville and her companion Kevin Breeding of Jamestown, NY; and 3 granddaughters, Kennedy, Karissa and Madeline Cratty. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to place a memorial, may do so to the Corry American Legion Honor Guard, 1460 Sciota Avenue, Corry, PA 16407.
