Obituary for Donald W. Simmons Donald W. Simmons, 86, of Orleans, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 12:10 AM, at Meadowbrook Senior Living in Fishers, Indiana. He was born March 15, 1932 in Orleans, Indiana, the son of Glenn and Ruby (Wells) Simmons. He was a member of the Orleans Masonic Lodge and a past member of the Orleans United Methodist Church.

A veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War while stationed in Europe and attended Purdue University. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 42 years of employment and was a member of the Million Mile Club. He worked for his father at Simmons Tire Service in Orleans.

Don is survived by one sister; Delores Ann Simmons-Stewart of Bloomington, one niece; Sheri (Todd) Potasnik of Noblesville, IN, a niece-in-law; Margaret Stewart of Lynn Haven, FL, several great nieces and nephews; Brian, Matthew and Raeann. He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew; Drew Stewart Jr and brother-in-law, Drew Stewart. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, with Pastor Ed Fisher officiating.

Military Rites will be conducted by the Orleans American Legion Post 69. Friends are invited to visitation on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans. Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Community Foundation.
