Donna Jean Corner, age 69, of Walnut Shade passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Stuart, IA July 6, 1949 to Jay Ward Sackett and Betty Lou Keithley Sackett. Donna was raised in Arvada, CO, near Denver.

In her younger years Donna traveled the world. During her travels she was always sure to became familiar the local cuisine. After her travels around the states and world she settled in the Ozarks to be near her parents.

During the year of 1995 in Branson Donna and Michael Corner met. Not long thereafter in Eureka Springs, AR they were wed July 13, 1996. With an accounting background Donna worked in California for a constructions company, then Consumers Grocery Warehouse in Springfield, and later Co-owned a construction business with Michael named Corner Mountain Specialties.

After they closed the business Donna became a homemaker. Donna loved plants and was known to have a green thumb envied by many, as were her cooking skills. Donna enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook, after all she learned from the best, her grandmother and her mother.

She was an avid reader and a scrabble player to be revered. Donna is survived by her husband Michael; a step son Joshua Corner; a sister Debbie Sackett, a nephew William Gutirrez, nieces Jo Ann Gutirrez, Stephanie Gutirrez, Carie Aplanalp, and Betty Yenulonis. Donna is preceded in death by both her parents; two sisters Verna Lumpkin and Linda Gutirrez and a brother Verlin Sackett.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Donna Jean Corner please visit our Sympathy Store.
