Donna Rose Yaklevich (nee Donna Rose Peters), 88, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2018 at Kobacher House, surrounded by family members. A 1947 graduate of Rosary High School, Columbus, she attended The Ohio State University (B. Bus.

Admin. ); West Chester State Teachers College, West Chester, Pennsylvania. ; The Ohio State University (M.

Psychology). Donna taught third grade at Avery Road Elementary School, Hilliard, became a licensed Psychologist, and worked with the Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and U.S. Veterans Administration. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer, an artist, art lover and art collector, world traveler, hiker, biker, runner, pilot, and briefly, an amateur bullfighter.

She also authored, “Chris Views Columbus”, (1963) Columbus’ first tour guide book, and co-authored “Personality Determinants of Eye Contacts and Direction of Gaze Aversion,” Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (1973), a pioneering work on truthfulness/lying and eye movement. Survived by her husband and best friend of 67 years John Yaklevich, children Vicki and Jay, granddaughter Mia, brother and sister-in-law Dan and Helene Peters, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom express their gratitude to The Ohio State University Hospitals and Kobacher House for the care that Donna received. Friends are invited to visit and share remembrances Wednesday May 9, from 4-7 pm at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Road.
