Obituary for Patsy Crewe The ‘Little Engine that Could’ finally couldn’t-Patsy (Patt) Crewe reached the end of her journey on April 30, 2018. The trip started on June 4, 1928 in Three Rivers, Michigan with her parents, Victor and Dorothy (Dean) Troyer. It took some chugging in the beginning but during her education at Michigan State University she met and married Robert (Bob) Crewe adding his engine to hers so they could share the trip.

Three more cars were added in the 50’s: Janice, Marsha and Jeff. They slowed the train down, a bit, but enriched all the sights and sound of her married life. More cars were added with Janice’s partner, Mark Johnson; Jeff’s wife, Lori; her grandchildren Jenine Monks, daughter of Janice; Alex and Rachael Crewe, son and daughter of Jeff and Lori; and great grandchildren, Greta Mae and Elliot William Romstedt, son and daughter of Jenine Monks and husband, Alex Romstedt.

Her daughter, Marsha, brought an extra sense of humor adding much pleasure to the trip. It was a trip that included many stops. Bob’s 30-year association with the Coca-Cola company moved the family to various locations, having made many friends along the way producing joyful memories for the entire ‘Crewe’.

Over the years Patt and Bob went on many trips with the Elderhostel program, traveling all over the US and Europe. The train has come to the end of its landlocked journey, for Patt, but the next one will be glorious as she travels to the stars, toward one star which was named in her behalf after one of her favorite sayings, “Trust Me”. Mother, we have trusted you, loved you and admired you.

You have brought the family great joy, wisdom and so much laughter!
