Atwell, age 74 of Marceline, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at Garden Terrace in Overland Park, Kansas. Doris was born in Brookfield, Missouri on April 2, 1944 to Lonnie S. and Ethel L. (Jacobs) Slater. She married Clarence Howard Atwell in 1962 and had worked at Herff Jones in Marceline for many years.

She is survived by her son Brian H. Atwell of Lenexa, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Howard and brother Larry Dale Slater. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Masonic Cemetery in Bucklin.

The family request no flowers please, you may make a donation in her honor to the Great Plains SPCA (animal shelter) 5424 Antioch, Merriam, Kansas 66202. Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline.
