Doris J. Witmer, 74, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Thursday, November 16, 1944 in Hummelstown, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Frances (Becker) Bechtel. She was married 53 years to Vernon L. Witmer.

Doris was a member of Elizabethtown Mennonite Church where she also taught Sunday school. She was retired from Eagle Janitorial Services. In the last half year of her life, Doris discovered her talent for art.

She enjoyed oil painting and drawing scenery of Christmas and special occasion cards. In addition to her husband Vernon, she is survived by a son Christopher L. Witmer of Surprise, AZ and a sister Pauline Nessinger of Hummelstown. Doris was predeceased by a son Matthew P. Witmer; two sisters: Donna and Jackie Bechtel; and two brothers: Richard and Bill Bechtel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, 300 South Spruce Street, Elizabethtown at 2:00 PM. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 at 10:00 AM. Memories and condolences may be shared at www. FinkenbinderFamily.com.
