Doris L Irish, 88 of Mancelona died November 12, 2018 at home. She was born November 6, 1930 in Cadillac the daughter of Richard and Winifred (Haynes) Bigger. Doris moved to Mancelona in 1960 and worked for Boyne Products (United Tech), eventually retiring from there.

In 1985 she joined the Moose Lodge and helped in many ways such as bartending, cleaning, and setting up for dinners. She also volunteered for years at the Mancelona Food Pantry. In her spare time Doris enjoyed crocheting, reading, working puzzles, and watching game shows.

Surviving Doris are her children Kay (David) Verstrat of Charlevoix, Barbara Wallace of Vancouver, WA, Richard Irish of Mancelona, and Penny (Jim) Howell of Rosburg, WA. Also surviving are her brothers Donald Bigger of Middleville and Eldon (Dorothy) Bigger of Grand Rapids, sister in-law Diane Bigger of Cedar Springs, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gherold Irish, her sons Charles and Paul Irish and her granddaughter Louisa Bigger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 8, from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the American Legion Hall in Mancelona. A luncheon will follow at the Moose Lodge from 12 Noon until 3 p.m. Arrangements have been handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
