Doris Mae Bell February 13, 1928 – March 13, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Doris Mae Bell, age 91 of Repton, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at The Cedars at Englewood Health Care Facility in Monroeville. Mrs. Bell was born in Excel, Alabama and had been a longtime resident of Monroe and Conecuh Counties. She had also lived in Los Angeles County, California for 22 years.

Mrs. Bell worked for B.C. Moore’s Department Store in Monroeville for several years as a retail sales associate. She had worked as a substitute teacher for the Repton Elementary School and Repton High School in Conecuh County. Mrs. Bell was an avid quilter and had taught sewing classes at Patrick Henry Junior College (presently Coastal Community College).

She was a member of Repton Baptist Church where she served in the WMU Program. Being a lady of strong faith, church and family were very important to her. Mrs. Bell is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Dawson and Ila Mae Jordan Dawson; her husband, Benjamin Thomas Bell; and her son, Mike Bell.

Survivors include her sons, Mitchell Bell and wife Jeanetta of Repton and Matt Bell and wife Stephanie of Daphne; her daughter, Lynel Silva and husband Mark of Montgomery; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. John Conn officiating.

Burial will follow in Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox. Visitation will be Saturday, March 16th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family is accepting flowers or memorials may be made to Repton Baptist Church.
