Obituary for Doris May (Gotschall) Hovanec Doris May (Gottschall) Hovanec, 86 of Baden went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2018. She was born August 12, 1931 in Auburn, New York and was the daughter of the late Charles and Alfreda Gottschall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis M. Hovanec, Sr. a granddaughter, Brittany Hovanec, a brother Charles “Buster” Gottschall.

Brothers-in-law: John Hovanec, Richard Yates, John Voss, Paul Ayoob and Tom Osborne, Sisters-in-law: Ann Yates, Rosemary Ayoob, Connie Hovanec and Joyce Gottschall. She was a former member of Divine Redeemer, Ambridge and St. Catherine of Siena, Cresent, PA. Doris was also a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and a Baden Recreation Board Member.

She worked at Sewickley Hospital and then worked as a Home Health Aide. Doris was a loving mother and grandmother. She helped babysit her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Michael and Cynthia Hovanec, Harmony, Anthony and Joyce Hovanec, Wexford, Patricia and Harry Larkin, Center Twp. Francis and Jean Hovanec, Fort Mill, SC. 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Bill and Cathy Hovanec, Aliquippa, one sister-in-law: Elaine “Cindy” Voss, Ambridge.

Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 724-375-0496. Departing prayers will begin at 10:15 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Frances Cabrini Church, Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
