Obituary for Charles Bedekovich Jr. Charles “Chuck “ Bedekovich, Jr. 89 of Center Twp. is now at peace; he passed away September 27, 2018. He was born July 3, 1929 in West Aliquippa and was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Lucich) Bedekovich, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia (Kroskey) Bedekovich and his son Larry Bedekovich, who recently passed away in June.
Chuck was also preceded in death by his siblings: George, John and Matthew Bedekovich, Rose Bedekovich and Anne Spence. He was retired from J&L Steelworks as a foreman in the carpenter shop. Chuck was a faithful member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church and was very active within the church.
He served as a Eucharistic Minister, an Usher at Mass and assisted in managing the food bank. Chuck also took great pride in being the Director of Maintenance at the church for over 20 years. He was also proud to be a member of the Knights of Columbus having earned the honor of Fourth Degree Knight.
Chuck is survived by his loving Children: Chuck and Joanne Bedekovich III, Kris and Jim Domino, Lori and Greg Ford, Lynda and Karl Steuer, Beth Bedekovich; Mark DeCaria, who Chuck treated like a son and a special neighbor, Micky Nelson, who was like a daughter to Chuck. He was blessed with five grandchildren: Jonathan (Alyssa) Ford, Artem (Jacie) Bedekovich, Viktoria (Alex) Hightower, Vladimir Bedekovich, Matthew Bedekovich and his girlfriend Kayla Mascaro. Two great grandchildren: Charlie and Evelyn.
Chuck is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law: Mike and Mary Ann Bedekovich, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a special dog and cat, Molly and Zion. Visitation will be Monday from 3-7 pm in the Anthony Mastrofrancesco Funeral Home Inc. 2026 McMinn Street, Aliquippa 724-375-0496. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial Tuesday, 10:00 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
Interment will be private. The Bedekovich family respectfully requests that no flowers be sent to the funeral home. If one would like to honor Chuck’s memory, donations may be made to the McGuire Memorial Home, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
