Obituary for Anthony “Tony” Santilli Anthony “Tony” Santilli, 85 of Hopewell Twp. passed away September 27, 2018. He was born October 18, 1932 in Bugnara, Italy and was the son of the late Pelino and Giacinta (LaMarca) Santilli.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Angeline “Eva” (Escoto) Santilli. Tony was extremely devoted to his wife and mother. He lovingly was referred to as St. Anthony.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Tony was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and attended Mass faithfully until his health hindered him from going. He retired from J&L Steelworks as a Mill Wright.

Tony was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He also enjoyed watching Pitt Panthers football and basketball. Tony is survived by his devoted brother and sister-in-law: Dr. William and Linda Santilli, Aliquippa, a nephew, David (Isabel) Santilli who was also Tony’s God son.

Two nieces: Jessica (Aaron) Goodman, Christina (Brian) Hightower, a special cousin Joanne and Martin Liberatore, a very special friend Helen Liberatore and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At Tony’s request there will not be any visitation. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial, Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Howard Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the following for their professional and compassionate care of our beloved Tony. Dr. Randy Sheemer and staff, Dr. William Ferri and staff, Dr. William Slamenda and staff, Dr. George Daniels and staff and the nursing staff of second floor cardio of Heritage Valley, Beaver. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society.
