Obituary for Doris Rea Tyler Doris Rea Tyler passed into the arms of our Lord at age 90 on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Doris Rea was born Feb. 16, 1928 in Snyder, Texas to Tom Miller and Letha Orrick Miller.

After graduating high school in Sweetwater, Texas she met and married her husband, Robert “Ray” Tyler of Longworth, Texas in 1946. They moved to Arlington in 1953. Doris Rea devoted her life to the service of the Lord and her family.

She was a faithful, long time member of University Baptist Church in Arlington, where she sang in the choir, chaired many committees, was active in the Women’s Missionary Union and cultivated a large church family of friends. Along with Mary Belle Keller, she helped build a successful Wedding Reception business in the 70’s and 80’s. In retirement, she and Ray enjoyed traveling the world and spending quality time with family and friends.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the loving care provided to our dear mother by the compassionate staff at Town Hall Estates in Arlington and the nurses and aides from Universal Hospice in Fort Worth during her final days. Doris Rea was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Ray Tyler; and her brother, Kenneth Miller of Houston. She is survived by her children, Gary Tyler of Euless, Becky Mize and Brad Tyler of Arlington and Mark Tyler of Waxahachie.
