Obituary for Dorothea L. Harms Dorothea “Dot” Loraine Harms, 101, formerly of Axtell, Nebraska for over 50 years, passed away on December 16, 2017 in South Jordan, Utah of old age and natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell with the Rev. Gale Dorn officiating.

Interment will be held in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Hildreth. Viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to service times at the church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the services at the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell.

Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Dorothea was born on September 7, 1916 in Franklin County, NE to John Wilhelm Golter and Linda Heidemann. She grew up on the family farm and attended the Freewater country school in Franklin County, NE.

She was united in marriage to Harvey Harms. The couple made their home in Axtell where Harvey was the town barber and a school bus driver and Dorothea washed dishes at the community school. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell for over 60 years, as well as the Axtell V.F.W. secretary for over 30 years.

Harvey passed away on December 27, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda K. Lyman; grandchildren, Camilla J. Snow, Joshua D. Lyman, Stacie L. Casterline, Cherilyn A. Lyman, Kayla R. Lyman; great-grandchild, Austin Snow. Dorothea is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Harms; parents, Bill & Linda Golter, and four siblings, Lloyd, Lester, Arlyn Golter and Leona Titkemeier.
