Dorothy “Dottie” Anne Forrest, 80, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the Calvary Hospital, Bronx, New York. Her strong will to live and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her battle with cancer over the past several years. Dorothy was born on August 28, 1938, the daughter of the late Redfield and Anna (Yaeger) Forrest of Port Chester.

She graduated from Port Chester High School in 1956 where she was the Drum Majorette. Dottie was a member of the National Baton Twirling Association and was listed in the Who’s Who in Baton Twirling. She performed on the Ed Sullivan Show and the 1964 World’s Fair in New York.

In addition, she routinely performed at VA Hospitals, benefits, parades, community affairs and local charity events. She was noted for her fabulous and daring fire baton twirling performances. Dottie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a successful business woman, owning Dottie’s Sports in Port Chester, “Hall of Fame” at the Port Chester Flea Market, and Grandma’s Sweet Shoppe, Dottie’s Sand Art in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey and as Store Manager at the Gulfstream Gift Shop in Hallandale, Florida.

She was always available to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor in need. She was committed to rescuing stray or abandoned cats and abused animals. She leaves many fond memories to be cherished by her loving children, Chip (Sherie) Fierro of North White Plains, NY, Michael (Cindy Thebaud) Fierro of Norfolk, VA, Kip (Virginia Correll) Fierro of Greenwich, CT and Carleanne Fierro of Pound Ridge, NY.

; adoring grandchildren, Tricia Dewey, Christopher Dewey (pre-deceased) and William Fierro Joyce of Pound Ridge; Brooke (Larry) Petriccione of Pleasantville, Ryan and Jesse Fierro of White Plains, and Martine Fierro of Greenwich and great-grandchildren Matteo, Alessia and Mila. Memorial donations in memory of Dottie may be made to an animal rescue organization or to the Christopher Dewey Memorial Swim Fund www. deweyswimfoundation.com Visitation will be 3-7PM on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc.
