Obituary for Dorothy A. Morlachetta Dorothy A. Morlachetta (nee O’Toole) of Laurel Springs, NJ (Gloucester Twp. ), age 74 years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her adoring family on January 4, 2019. Dorothy was born in Camden, NJ, grew up in Fairview, and was the beloved daughter of the late James L. and Emily O’Toole (nee Nelson).

She is survived by: her loving husband John “Jack” Morlachetta; devoted children, James L. D’Auria, John A. D’Auria (Lisa), Carleen A. Cooney (Patrick), Kathleen A. Victor (Robert), Maria T. Morris (James), and Lauren E. Desiderio; her beloved sister Patricia A. Bowker (Raymond); dear grandchildren, Jamie, Emily, Patrick, Ryan, Megan, John, Matthew, and Katie; her nephew Michael Bowker (Betsy), her niece Michelle Bowker; as well as great nieces and great nephew, Erin, Matthew and Meghan Bowker. Dorothy has been a licensed beautician since 1962, working as a self-employed hairdresser most of her life. But her passion, and her priority were raising her family.

Everything revolved around her children and her grandchildren. They refer to her as “The best mom in the world”. She was the definition of family oriented and was always there to participate in her children and grandchildren’s life events and special occasions.

She never hesitated to lend a hand, or to help a friend, even if it was a last-minute haircut, right up until several weeks ago. Her presence will be forever missed. Dorothy enjoyed traveling the world with her loving husband Jack.

They especially enjoyed cruises, family vacations in Maine, and their past trips to Europe and Ireland. She loved to dance, shop, care for her garden, her home, and her beloved dogs. She was a Notre Dame Fan, followed the Patriots, and loved Tom Brady.

Closed casket visitation (as per her wishes) will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd. , Blackwood, NJ 08012, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30.

Private cremation will follow.
