Obituary for Dorothy Ann Brown Born in New Hampshire on August 6, 1930, Dorothy “Dottie” Brown passed away peacefully at home with her family, as she left this world on March 17, 2018 in Zephyrhills, Florida, after a lengthy bout with dementia. She was the loving wife of Kenneth (Kenny/Ken) Brown whose marriage and devotion lasted for 35 years. In addition to Kenny, she is survived by five children and five step-children.

She also had a total of fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren. She was very proud of them all. She spent many years as a hairdresser while being a devoted wife and mother.

After Ken’s and her retirement, they were able to spend good times traveling all over the country and Canada, with various RV’s until her illness took over. She especially enjoyed the times they spent on their trike which she claimed was hers “but let Kenny drive”. They really enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing and the two step.

In 2006 Ken and Dottie moved from Clinton, Maryland where they lived for most of their married life, to Pennsylvania where Dottie had time to enjoy reading and sitting on her comfortable porch, while Kenny enjoyed his shop. During this time they spent winters in Zephyrhills so it wasn’t a surprise that in 2014 they moved to Florida, fulltime, with their motor home. The years with dementia stole some life from Dottie, but she made many friends during her lifetime and they will forever be grateful for knowing her.

She will be dearly missed by all those that crossed paths with her. A visitation and prayers will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery 8000 Woodyard Road Clinton, MD 20735.
