Dorothy Cannon, 82, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late Martin J. Corley and Anne Costello Friday, June 26, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated Lincoln High School in Jersey City.

Dorothy married Charles E. Cannon, son of Thomas A. Cannon and Karen Hansen in St. Patrick’s Church, in Jersey City, NJ in June of 1957. Dorothy and Charles moved to Old Bridge, NJ in 1959, lived there, and raised their three children before retiring to the community of Renaissance in Manchester in the spring of 2001. There, they enjoyed an active lifestyle, traveling with friends on organized trips, cruises, as well as traveling by themselves to their timeshares in Myrtle Beach and Hawaii.

Dorothy was a member of the Red Hats Club, Water Babes, and she played Mahjong. She enjoyed reading and solving puzzles. Dorothy was strong in her faith and cherished her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Laura, of Freehold, NJ; Michael, and his wife Debbie, of Brick, NJ; and Eileen, and her husband, Scott Rauenbuhler of Bordentown, NJ. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren: Chris, Jason, Chelsea, Paige, and Ian; her sister, Mildred O’Kane, of Arlington, TX, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Charles; her brothers, Thomas and Martin Corley, and her sisters, Mary Rowan, Rita Achong, Madeline Smith, Gloria Gillespie, and Gertrude (Trudy) Maltese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Church, in Old Bridge, NJ, on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick, NJ. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday May 14, 2019 between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the Michael Hegarty and John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
