Obituary for Dorothy Elaine Watson Dorothy Elaine Dyson Watson, age 65, of Taylorsville left this earthly world for heavenly home on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. She was born on March 3, 1953 in Alexander County, the daughter of the late Graydon Henry & Peggy Jane Teague Dyson. During her career, Dorothy worked at Sears in Taylorsville and Mo Caro Dye & Finishing.

She attended East Taylorsville Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was known for her infectious smile. Dorothy loved working in her flower garden and taking trips to the mountains. She especially had a great love for her children and her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Hayden & Alma Teague; and paternal grandparents O.C. & Julia Dyson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years Danny Lee Watson of the home; son Daniel Watson & wife Kim; daughter Deidra Simms & husband Matthew; grandchildren Kayla, Kody, & Katen Simms and Peyton Watson; brother Tommy Dyson & wife Denise; and sister Kathy Chapman & husband Danny, all of Taylorsville; along with 11 nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
