DOROTHY EVARTS January 28, 1929 – January 21, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Scranton–Dorothy Evarts, 89, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas. She was born January 28, 1929 in Sparks, Georgia, the daughter of Leonard and Jewell Hunter Lott. Dorothy grew up in Georgia and had lived in Scranton since 1957.

Dorothy was a Homemaker, and her hobbies were quilting, gardening, canning, cooking southern food and spoiling her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. On April 18, 1957. Dorothy was married to Rollo Evarts in Adel, Georgia.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jewell; four brothers, JW Lott, LR Lott, Melvin Lott and Hardy Lott; a sister, Doris Freeman and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Florance. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Rollo of the home; her five children, Linda Michael of Scranton, Lora (Kevin) Florance of Scranton, Phillip Evarts of Scranton, Lovella Long of Carbondale and David (Tammy) Evarts of Topeka; her five brothers, Howard Lott, Emory Lott, Artis Lott, Roger Lott and Ronald Lott; her two sisters, Beth Rogers and Joann Wright; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Dorothy will be at 11:00am on Saturday, January 26 at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Scranton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS.
