Miss Dorothy Faye France, 84, formerly of Mayfield Ky went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 12 surrounded by family. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Effie Lee Coplen France; her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Sonny Mullins; and infant brother, Marvin France, Jr She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Deborah McAteer (Joseph); great-nephew Bill Cates (Misty), great-niece Betsy Smith (Robert); great- great nephews and nieces: Tristan, Lauren, Elise, Kendall, Morgan, Lindsay, and Ben and a host of special friends and neighbors.

Faye graduated from Wingo High School and was employed many years at the Merit Clothing Company until its closure . Faye then was employed by and retired from the J.U.Kevil Corner. Faye practiced her Christian faith fervently throughout her many years.

Her generosity has impacted the lives of many people. In 1981,Faye selflessly donated a kidney to her sister, Betty Jo, giving her the Gift of Life. The sisters went on to share their time as ambassadors for the National Kidney Foundation’s organ donation program.

Faye was an avid dog lover. Shadow, Pewee, and Tinkerbell were all treated as royal residents of Faye’s Willow Street home. Faye’s wry wit and sense of humor as well as her “Unbridled Spirit” kept her close to the hearts of her many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services for Faye France will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Melvin officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
