Dorothy (Gritzan) Beatty, 100, of Allegheny Twp. , PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Bayberry Place in Lower Burrell. Born April 30, 1918 in Allegheny Twp.

, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Augusta (Gerber) Gritzan. Dorothy was a 1935 graduate of Leechburg High School. She married C. Arthur Beatty Jr. on April 8, 1942.

They were married for 66 years until his death in 2008. Dorothy worked for Lloyds Funeral Home then Freeport Brick Company until she retired in 1983. She was a member of Freeport Presbyterian Church where she served as Clerk of Session for many years.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Richard, Carl, Henry, William, Edward and Clair Gritzan; and three sisters, Edna Gritzan, Ella Garland and Alma Garland. Survivors include three nieces, four nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Friends welcomed by her family on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 11 AM until the time of services at Noon at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the Rev.

Joseph O’Malley officiating. Interment following at Brookland Cemetery, 2432 White Cloud Rd. , Allegheny Twp.
