Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy Marie Halferty, 99, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. There will be a private family service held at a later date. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery, rural Platteville.

melbyfh.com. Dorothy was born on December 21, 1919 in Platteville, the daughter of Robert and Ethal (Cardy) Edge. She had three brothers and two sisters.

Dorothy attended White Grade School and Platteville High School. She was united in marriage to Edward B. Halferty on May 25, 1939, together they had two children, Robert and Sharon. Edward preceded her in death on January 1, 1993.

Dorothy and Edward farmed together most of their marriage. In 1953, Dorothy went to work at the Platteville Hospital as CNA and later became an x-ray technician. Later she started working at the Cuba City Nursing Home as a CNA until retiring in 1991.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Doug) Nodorft; three grandchildren, Jean (David) Cottingham, John (Terri Hicks) Nodorft, and Scott (Cara) Nodorft; seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Maddie, and Lilly Cottingham, Chelsea (Trevor Netti) Nodorft, and Ryan Nodorft, Justin (Cheyenne McKellips) Nodorft, and Jacob Nodorft; three great-great-grandchildren, Ava, Braelin, and Rhett. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Robert Halferty; daughter-in-law, Aloha Halferty; and three brothers and two sisters. The family wishes to thank Gray’s Nursing Home, Epione Pavilion, and Grant County Hospice for the wonderful care that all the staff provided for Dorothy.
