Robert J. “Bob”‘s Obituary Robert J. “Bob” Heinrichs, 90, of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Edenbrook of Platteville. Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Deacon Bill Bussan will officiate.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, at a later date. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be made to the Robert J. “Bob” Heinrichs Memorial Fund.

Online condolences may be made at www. melbyfh.com. Bob was born on November 3, 1928 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond and Helene (Taylor) Heinrichs.

He was united in marriage to Ila Belle Storres on August 18, 1949 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2016. Bob graduated from Platteville High School and then went to work at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa, where he worked until 1987, retiring after 39 years.

Bob loved to play euchre and bingo, go hunting and fishing, and going for rides to visit places around town, especially the Thrift Shop and McDonalds to socialize. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger football fan. Bob also loved dogs, especially, his beagle, Randy, and enjoyed going to their place on the Mississippi River in Prairie du Chien.

He was a lifetime member of the Platteville Elk’s Lodge #1460, a member of American Legion #42, and the Eagles of Prairie du Chien. Bob is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Mike) Worachek; grandson, Tony (LeaAnn) Worachek; two great-grandsons, Jack and Michael Worachek; two sisters, Sheila (Bob) Bickes and Sharon (Dave) Hanson; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary and Phyllis Heinrichs; good friend, Kelly Burkholder; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ila Belle; sister, Sheryl; and three brothers, Richard, Ted, and Keith Heinrich.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Edenbrook of Platteville and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care.
