Obituary for Dorothy J. Young Young, Dorothy, 91, of Ann Arbor, Michigan died November 17, 2018 at her home. Born June 22, 1927 in St. Boniface, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Allan V. Young; her children, Elisabeth A. (Thomas) Kolderman and Leslie A. Fraser; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Alana), Kellen, Nathan, Kerrin, Ethan, and Hannah.

She was preceded in death by her first spouse, Harry F. Emans. Dorothy earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Madonna College in Livonia, Michigan and taught at St. Sabina Catholic School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan for 21 years. She then moved overseas to continue teaching and school administration work in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Sierra Leone.

She was a wonderful wife and mother and educator who touched hundreds of lives and was beloved. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5-7 pm at St. Joseph Village Church, 3450 Dover St., Dexter, Michigan. A Scripture service will take place at 7 pm.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Village Church at 11 am (instate 10 am). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Dorothy’s name to Mariannhill Mission Society, 23715 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127.
