OBITUARY Dorothy M. Jacobson October 26, 1921 – September 24, 2018 Dorothy Marie Jacobson, a good and faithful servant passed away at the age of 96 years and 11 months, on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born October 26, 1921 in Evansville, IN. She worked at Republic Aviation in Evansville during WWII and played on the Industrial Baseball League.

Dorothy married Robert W. Jacobson in 1945. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since 1945, where she served in the food pantry and the thrift shop. Dorothy loved gardening, especially growing potatoes and sweet potatoes.

She was a wonderful seamstress, and enjoyed having cheesecake and ice cream for meals. Dorothy is loved and missed by her children, Robert (Helen) Jacobson, Jr., David (Colleen) Jacobson, Karin Johnson, and Evans (Sonja) Jacobson; 8 grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Lane; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, and siblings, Loren and Laura.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 305 3rd Ave, Rockford, IL 61104 with Rev. Chuck Olson officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 until the time of service.
