She was born on August 8, 1932 in Quannah, Texas the daughter of Claude and Nettie Shugart Tyler. Dorothy was raised in Plainview and lived there for most of her life before moving to Sherman about seven years ago.

She met and married Billy Wayne Sheppard on August 25, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2000. Dorothy was a Steward of the First Church of Nazarene in Plainview, TX.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Karen Todd and husband Walter of Durant, OK. , six sons, Michael Sheppard of Cartwright, OK. , Terry Sheppard of Cartwright, OK.

, Dennis Ray Sheppard of Plainview, TX. , Kim Sheppard and wife Pam of Sherman, TX. , Alan Sheppard of Dallas, TX.

and Phillip Sheppard of Browning MO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and one sister, Gail Bradley and husband Freddy of Plainview, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the First Church of Nazarene in Plainview, TX. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery in Plainview. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.
