Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy M. Katers, 89, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died Saturday, March 2, 2019. She was born January 6, 1930, to Oscar and Alma (Habeck) Raduenz. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Green Bay West High School.

On May 28, 1949, she married the love of her life, Earl A. Katers at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Both had fond memories of their honeymoon out west, including Yellowstone National Park. She always smiled when reminiscing about their encounters with the bison and bears.

A lover of animals, Dorothy enjoyed her employment with Roningen-Nyren Animal Hospital and Dr. Samuel Vainisi’s Animal Hospital. Immediately following her retirement from veterinarian services, she began a second career as a volunteer for Bellin Hospital. Dorothy was a member of St. Agnes Parish.

She and Earl always put family first and enjoyed spending time together with family and friends at their cottage in Townsend, WI. Together they enjoyed fishing, golfing, and dining out in the area. Dorothy also enjoyed supporting the Green Bay Packers and attended countless games, including the Ice Bowl.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Barbara and Jim Hoefler, Wendy Katers, Keith and Jayne Katers; two grandsons, Matthew Hoefler, Earl Katers; a granddaughter-in-law, Charity Hoefler; three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Jade, and Ella Katers; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Katers Warpinski, Anne Katers, Lucille Katers; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Earl; her parents; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosetta (Larry) François, Richard (Bonnie) Katers, Martha Holtz, Rita Barwick, Mary Jane Katers, Merlin, Norbert, Edwin, Orville, and Alvin Katers. Friends may call from 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1684 Ninth St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev.

Patrick Beno officiating. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
