Dorothy Mae Henson (Ison) June 11, 1936 – March 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Dorothy Mae Henson, 82, of Ironton, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. The Greenup County, Kentucky native was born June 11, 1936, the daughter of the late James and Nancy Jenkins Watkins. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Henson, whom she married on July 8, 2002 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.

Dorothy loved being outside in her flower garden, running her farm equipment and tending to her cattle. She also enjoyed spending time with the people she loved. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: four sons: Robert Lee Ison, James (Alvin) Ison, Paul (Steve) Ison and Gerald (Jerry) Ison In addition to her husband, she is survived by: four daughters: April Ison of South Point, Lisa (Ronnie) Abrams of Pedro, Brenda Moore of Ironton, and Ann Spurlock of Flatwoods, Kentucky two sons: Kenneth Ison and David Ison, both of Ironton second mother to: Mikkael (Brittany) Ison, Randy (Brittany) Ison, and Meghan Ison and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street Ironton, Ohio with Elder Glenn Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
