Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy Yvonne Booth Magee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 5th, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Mamie McGee and Anson Booth. She was the beloved wife of Calvin Magee, Sr. for 46 years.

She was a loving mother to Calvin Magee, Jr.(Taura), Marcus Magee(Liza), Renell Moore (Leatha), Terrance Howard and Benjamin Pitts. Loving grandmother to Nia Magee, Calvin Magee III, Tyson Magee, Racqul Moore, Raenell Moore, Jania Moore, Ireyele Moore, Jalen Moore and Olivia Sider; great- grandchildren Raine, Christopher, and Khalil. Dorothy leaves to cherish in her memory her brothers Robert Booth and Anthony Booth as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Anson Booth and Mamie McGee Booth and siblings Anson Booth, Joseph Booth, Willie Booth, Alton Booth, Herbert McGee, Sr., Betty Booth Smith and Martha Booth Stevenson Pugh. Dorothy was a lifetime faithful member of Carver Desire Baptist Church where she last served as President of the Deaconess Board. She was a steadfast generous friend who was devoted to helping others, and she graciously shared her time, talents and possessions with anyone in need.

She was known to her friends as “Dorothy Booth,” a woman of elegance, grace, and style. Dorothy was an active member of the Carver Sr. High School Class of 1972, where she served as treasurer. Dorothy was employed at Helen Cox Sr. High School as a paraprofessional.

She was a dedicated passionate paraprofessional who was deeply committed to her students. She was adept at providing both the academic and emotional foundation needed for her young students’ future success. A Celebration of the Life and Love of Dorothy Yvonne Booth Magee will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 for 9:00 a.m. at Carver Desire Baptist Church 3301 Montegut Street, New Orleans, LA, 70126.

Visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 am. Pastor James R. Willis, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery 4000 Norman Mayer Ave.
