Obituary of Dorothy Murphy Dorothy (Phipps) Murphy passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. She was 98. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 5, 1920, daughter of the late Wilkinson and Florence Phipps.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward C. Murphy and a son Robert P. Murphy. Dorothy graduated from Miami University, class of 1941, as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She enjoyed her bridge and book clubs as well as her neighborhood picnic group.

Survivors include her son, Bill Murphy of Vestal, her daughter-in-law Diane B. Murphy of Apalachin, granddaughters Natalie (Matthew) Brubaker of Apalachin, Allison Murphy (Steve Birch) of Endwell and Michelle (Darin) DiPiazza of Apalachin and her great-grandchildren Colin and Connor Brubaker and Lauren and Rachel DiPiazza. She was also survived by a close niece, Susan (David) Caldwell of Middletown, OH. Relatives and friends may call from 11:00am-12:00pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Niskayuna Reformed Church, 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, NY 12309.

A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm in the church with burial in the family plot in Memory’s Garden. The family would like to thank the staff at Kingsway for their love and care over the past 8 years. Kindly consider donations to the Niskayuna Reformed Church in loving memory of Dorothy Murphy.
