Dorothy Towner, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday June 10, 2018 at the age of 88. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori Pearce of Conklin, son Jim (Karine) Towner of Grand Rapids; two granddaughters Sara and Shannon Towner, a sister Eleanor Gunneman and brother Chet (Lois) Lazoski. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and grandson Troy.

Dorothy was a very proud mother and grandmother. She had a big heart for anyone that knew her. She loved her cat Daisy and was blessed to live in the same home her husband Robert built for over 60 years.

“Life is what you make it”. She had a great outlook on life. She was an eternal optimist.

She loved her many trips to Traverse City with her kids and enjoyed spending time with them. We would like to thank the ICU Nurses at Spectrum Blodgett for her great care. She will be greatly missed.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 423 Front Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 with Fr. Dan Schumaker as celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to mass beginning at 10am.
