Dorsey Ray Newton April 29, 1940 – March 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Dorsey Ray Newton, age 78, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Wednesday, (March 27, 2019) at his home. He was born on April 29, 1940 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Emmett and Olvie Stewart Newton. He did auto body work, and enjoyed skiing, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, working on cars, and spending time with his grandbabies.

He was a member of South Union General Baptist Church. He is survived by his spouse, Carolyn Newton; one son, Greg Newton of Leitchfield; three daughters, Valerie Meredith (William) of Leitchfield and Kimberly Newton and Chandra Glenn both of Bowling Green, KY; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Mickey Newton (Joanie) and one half-brother, Timmy Newton (Patricia) both of Leitchfield, and one-half sister, Donna Brown of Louisville, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Michael Minton, his baby brother, Eugene Newton, and a sister Cova Brandenburg. A funeral service will be held at South Union General Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, (March 30, 2019). Bro.

Donald Webb will be officiating. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and will move to the South Union General Baptist Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
