Obituary for Douglas C. “Doug” Johnson Douglas C. Johnson, 75, of Enfield, beloved husband of Helen (Leary) Johnson for 52 years, entered into eternal peace surrounded by his family Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Jewish Nursing Home of Western Mass. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Leslie and Dorothy (Claymore) Johnson. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Doug was a lifetime resident of Enfield and a parishioner of Holy Family Church. He was retired from Hamilton Standard after more than 20 years with the company. Doug was a member of the Enfield Homeowners Assn.

and was an avid car enthusiast who was very proud of his very first car, a 1933 Chevy Coupe, which he built and has remained owner for over 59 years. Besides his wife Helen, he is survived by three children, Jeff Johnson and his wife Nancy of Palm City, FL, Lisa Johnson-Wiecek of Somersville, and Kimberly Johnson-Mailhot of Somers. He also leaves nine grandchildren; Sierra, Jeffrey and Samantha Johnson, Emily and Alex Wiecek, Kayla Mailhot-Wright and her husband Chris, Ryan, Kyle and Jillian Mailhot.

He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Deni. Special thanks to his personal home health aides; Mark, Eloise, Mary, Rob and Mike. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday Sept.

6, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd. , Enfield. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
