Obituary for Joyce Avery Joyce (Cavanaugh) Avery, 86, of Ellington, CT loving wife of the late Roger Avery entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Rockville General Hospital. Joyce was born January 27, 1932, in Agawam, MA the daughter of the late Charles and Miriam (Cowles) Cavanaugh. Joyce was a longtime member of the Ellington Senior Center.

She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and her flower gardens and loved day tripping with her family and friends. Joyce is survived by two sons, Dale Avery and his wife, Debra and Robert Avery all of Ellington; a step-son, Dennis Avery and his wife, Wendy of Mason, NH; a grandson, Jeremy Avery and his wife, Nicole of Barkhamsted; step-grandson, Seth Avery of New Hampshire; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gavin Avery and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. (Route 190), Somers.
