Obituary for Vernon C Merrill Vernon C. Merrill, 90, lifelong resident of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Hartford. He was born in Lynn, MA on August 26, 1928, the loving son of the late Chauncey and Sadie (Pike) Merrill. Vernon proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Vernon was a member of the Masons for over 60 years and an honorary member with the Composite Lodge 28. He enjoyed helping people and liked to stay busy. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor.

Vernon is survived by his son, Rodney Merrill; a sister, Rowena Kennedy and her husband, Jim; a daughter-in-law, Marie Merrill; five grandchildren, Christopher, Janine, Colleen, and Karen Merrill and Michael Rossman; two great grandchildren, Dustin and Jillian; and several nieces and nephews including, David Merrill and his wife, Judith. Vernon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian Olive Merrill; a son, Vernon Merrill, and by fourteen of his siblings. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for calling hours on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd.

, Enfield, CT. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery in Enfield.
