Dr. Frederick D.’s Obituary Dr. Frederick D. Rosencrantz, D.P.M., 79, of Tannersville, passed away on Friday morning, May 3, 2019, at Manor Care in Bethlehem. Born on January 26, 1940 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Samuel and Augusta (Steinberg) Rosencrantz who raised him in Philadelphia. While in high school he lettered in three varsity sports at Lincoln High School and after graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, achieving the rate of Hospital Corpsman, 2nd Class Petty Office .

He became certified in EEG and ran the department at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Upon discharge from the Navy, he entered Rider University’s pre med program and was a member of ZETA BETA TAO fraternity. He graduated from Rider in 1965 with a B.S. in Biology and was accepted to Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (at Temple University) and graduated in 1969.

Dr. Rosencrantz did a residence at St. Luke’s and Children’s Medical Center in Podiatric Orthopedics and Surgery. He practiced in Union, NJ and Roselle Park, NJ for 41 years and was appointed chief of his department at Union Hospital for 26 years. He also operated at St. Barnabas, Overlook, Columbus, West Es and Saddlebrook Hospitals.

His sons Eric and Steven were his pride and joy and his passions were football and toy trains. Fred was a member of the Train Collectors Association. Virginia was the love of his life and they spent the last 13 years together almost constantly.

Fred coached P.A.L football for 54 years in West Orange, NJ, winning 3 championships. He loved skiing and taking the boys out west to Colorado to ski. He also loved going to Aruba were he visited for many years.

He was an avid Eagles football fan, being a season ticket holder since 1970; and enjoyed watching the Phillies and 76er’s. Surviving are his companion, Virginia Hardy; sons, Eric Rosencrantz and wife Rosanna of Florida and Steven Rosencrantz of New Jersey; and three granddaughters, Mia, Carolina and Nicole. Services will be held on Saturday, May 11th from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg; with viewing beginning at 10AM followed by the funeral service at noon with celebrant Lois Heckman officiating.

. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to a charity of one’s choice.
