Obituary for Dr. Ira Herman Gouterman Dr Ira Gouterman passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve 2018 overlooking his favorite spot on the Paunacussing Creek, his family and beloved dog B.B. by his side. They say the love you give is the love you get, and nothing proved that to be more true than Ira’s last months, during which he and his family were surrounded by so much love from all of the people he touched throughout his remarkable life. He leaves behind a tribe of people who are forever changed for knowing him.
Among them: A dermatological practice of loyal patients and staff in Caldwell, NJ. A group of lifelong friends, brothers since growing up together in the Bronx. A tightknit village of kindred and kind spirits in Carversville, PA.
His nieces Allison and Karen and nephews Tommy and Michael, all of whom he considered his own. His daughters Meredith and Julie, Julie’s husband Greg and their three children, Summer, James and Casey. And his wife of over 50 years, Nancy.
