Obituary for Earl “Stan” Vander Pal Earl “Stan” Vander Pal, 68, of Beloit, WI, went home to be with the Lord on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018. He was born on June 4, 1949 in Harvard, IL, to Claude and Ruth (Huffar) Vander Pal. Stan was a 1967 graduate of Clinton High School.

He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force. Stan married Mari McCabe on February 14, 1981 in South Beloit, IL. Although he worked in Factories in his early years, being a “Friend of Bill’s”, he decided to pursue his passion and became a counselor for those with addictions working at the Rock Valley Correctional Programs and then the Rockford Rescue Mission.

He will be remembered as a man who loved the Lord and was eternally grateful for his Lord’s love for him. Stan liked to joke with everyone he came in contact with. He had a deep passion for his wife Mari and their blended family.

Stan was a member of Hope Free Church in Roscoe, IL and was a part of the Pastor’s Prayer Group until his health failed. Survivors include his wife, Mari of Beloit, WI; daughter, Kim (Ross) Vander Pal of Malta, IL; sons, Micah (Tonia) Van Landingham of Beloit, WI, Eric Van Landingham of Janesville, WI, and Jason (Val) Vander Pal; special son, Rich (Kim) Franklin of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Noah, Taylor, Corbin, Mason, Irie, Winona, Brady, David, and Maddie; special grandchildren, Kaja, Caden, and Dawson; brothers, Ben of Woodstock, IL, Terry (Mary Jo) of Clinton, WI, and Steve (Penny) of Black River Falls, WI; brothers-in-law, John Mustand of Hampshire, IL, Chuck Brockwell of Walworth, WI, and Mike (Sally) McCabe of Beloit, WI; sister-in-law, Lois Vander Pal; father-in-law, Melvin McCabe; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; beloved stepdad, Bill Seaver; sisters, Julie, Claudette, and Kathy; and brother, Mike.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Hope Free Church, 5656 Elevator Rd. , Roscoe, IL, with Pastor Brad Schreiner officiating. Visitation of remembrance will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Saturday in the church with military honors accorded by the V.F.W. Mead Allen Post #2306.
